Live-stream sensation DJ AG returns to Sheffield on Friday, after his last time in the Steel City drew in thousands of fans for his set with Ed Sheeran and JME. This time, three Sheffield-based artists will be given the chance to perform with DJ AG outside Sheffield City Hall.

The British DJ and influencer’s public performance will be streamed to his thousands of followers from 4pm to 8pm across TikTok and Instagram.

Waterbear Sheffield, The College of Music has partnered with DJ AG to display the up and coming talent in Sheffield. Until Monday, applications were open for three local acts to apply to perform alongside DJ AG.

The wider line-up is being curated by WaterBear and partners and will feature a mix of WaterBear student performers, community artists from Slambarz , special guest appearances from Sheffield music legends, and a selection of Sheffield’s best-known urban artists.

DJ AG said: “Every city’s got talent, but not every artist gets a real moment to be seen. Sheffield’s always had its own sound, so I’m bringing the live stream to the City Hall.”

After being named Time Out’s Londoner of the Year in 2024, the DJ is at the pinnacle of his music career. Huge crowds are predicted to gather in the city centre this evening.

Eve Massaad at WaterBear said: “Partnering with DJ AG to open up three ‘Apply to Play’ slots is a proper, real-world opportunity for emerging artists to perform live, in the city centre, as part of a huge moment for grassroots music. We want the next wave of Sheffield talent to feel seen, supported, and ready to step up.”
