Four men have been charged over the death of a 20-year-old who was involved in a crash in Rotherham over a year ago.

Police were called to Morthen Road in Wickersley following reports of a collision involving a Land Rover Discovery and a silver Subaru Forester on Sunday 2 June 2024.

Mackenzie Ball, a passenger in the Land Rover died at the scene.

An investigation was launched and four men will now appear in court, charged in connection to his death.

Owen Cocksedge, 19, from Doncaster has been charged with manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving whilst disqualified, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

Kowen Pitts, 21, of Jaunty Avenue, Sheffield and Adam Platts, 20, of Newbould Crescent, Sheffield have both been charged with manslaughter.

Deacon Blake, 18, of Jaunty Avenue, Sheffield is charged with manslaughter and Section 18 GBH.

All four men were remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
