After the Modelajna tattoo shop collapsed last month Paula Zalewska is now finally able to work again.
She was put out of work due to her women’s only tattoo shop collapsing due to leaks within the building. The front of the building collapsed on Sunday the 26th of April where residents then had to be evacuated at 1 in the morning.
No one was injured but it has left residents without homes that they can not go in and has left local business owner Paula without a place to work.
The building next door was a small business too which has been affected by the collapsed front wall.
Paula later found out that her insurance did not cover her for the incident that had happened to her tattoo shop and a go fund me was set up by her friend.
She said: “First of all I’m extremely grateful for everyone who has donated, who thought about me needing that financial help.
“I just don’t even know what to say really because I thought fair enough my friends and family will support me but I never thought my clients, my clients would have thought this certain way about me, about my work and that they are happy to support me through such a difficult moment in my career.
“My best friend set up the Go Fund Me and I didn’t know. I am extremely grateful for her. At that time I didn’t know what I would be able to recover and she made it with the thought that this money will help me be equipped in the new shop.”
Most of her equipment was recovered from the building with only a couple of items that she could not use as they had to be sterile so she has bought them ready to start again.
She very quickly found a new place to work and applied for all the licences that she needed from the council. She has not been able to work for three weeks because of this.
And is now able to work again starting on Monday next week and has set up her shop at Kiveton park.
