They Sheffield University and College Union is now on their last day of their six-day announced strike action, that ran from Thursday 7th to Friday 8th May last week, and Monday 11th to Thursday 14th May this week.
The Union are calling to halt the cuts to staffing costs that the University is currently making. They argue that this will cause “major job losses”.
They voiced their concerns over the scale and pace of these changes, as well as the workload and wellbeing impact that the strikes my cause on students.
The University claims that these cuts are needed for financial reasons, however the Union argues that their financial statements do not provide a clear case for them to do this.
