The Weston Park May Fayre returned to Sheffield last Sunday for a day of free entertainment.
The annual event, organised in collaboration between The University of Sheffield and Sheffield City Council, brought together a range of acts and fairground activities for families to enjoy.
Hundreds of people dodged the rain to visit the collection of local food stalls, performers, rides, charity stalls and minigames.
Morris dancers, who were at the fayre for the first time this year, proved to be hugely popular with attendees, and there were long queues to meet lizards at the ‘Scales and Tails’ stall.
Despite the wet weather, Sara Unwin, Head of Cultural Engagement at the University of Sheffield, celebrated the success of the event, and hailed the community spirit that was on show.
