A women’s choir from Sheffield starred in an online event to celebrate International Women’s Day and raise money for two charitable organisations.
Body of Sound, who formed in 1997, performed alongside a variety of other choirs and poets in an event that attracted over 200 viewers from all over the world.
The event helped to raise over £3,100 with donations set to be split between Sheffield One World Choir and The Sheffield Palestinian Women’s Scholarship Fund.
The theme for this year’s International Women’s day was “Choose to Challenge” and Kate Thomas, musical director of Body of Sound, said that was exactly what the event attempted to do.
