Sheffield City Council has launched a £2m cash fund to help local high street shops recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The one-off Economic Recovery Fund aims to help businesses reopen, adapt and encourage shoppers to continue supporting their local stores as lockdown restrictions ease.
Coun Iqbal, cabinet member for business and investment at Sheffield City Council, said: “Reopening the economy on this scale is something that we haven’t seen before in our lifetime, so we wanted to put this fund in place to make this an opportunity to do something different.”
