The inaugural Tramlines festival is back with Richard Ashcroft, The Streets and Royal Blood taking centre stage as the three headliners.
The three-day festival will take place at Hillsborough park after a two-year absence, taking place between Saturday July 23rd and Sunday 25th July.
The headliners join 40 other guests in the festival as well as well-known faces such as Sophie Ellis Bextor, Dizzee Rascal, The Fratelli’s, Tom Walker and The Kooks with other names set to be announced.
The festival was originally a free-festival and was first formed in 2009 but has since expanded massively and had reached its highest heights just before the pandemic with 2019 being a profound success with the Courteeners, Two Door Cinema Club and Nile Rodgers and Chic.
Sam Wood, 24, an engineer from Sheffield has been to the last three festivals and thinks this is up there with the best festival yet. He said, “The calibre of acts this year is spectacular, when Tramlines started, I never thought that it was going to be this big, its now a national festival”.
“If all goes to plan this could be the best yet and leave a legacy for years to come”.

However, not everybody is impressed with the line-up, Jonathan Thompson, 29, a construction worker describes the line-up as ‘under-whelming’. He said, “After there not being a festival for 2 years, I thought it would have been a bit more ambitious, however I’m really looking forward to some normality with people been able to go to festivals again”.
Tramlines Festival Operations Director, Timm Cleasby said, “The pandemic has hit us all very hard in a million different ways but the support that Sheffield has already shown us is incredibly humbling for us all. We’re super excited to bring you what I feel is one of our strongest line ups.”.
