A new restaurant has opened in Sheffield this week, offering real Italian cuisine.
‘Risto – Deli 2 Terre’ is located on London Road. Around 50 people attended the restaurant’s grand opening on Tuesday, which lasted for five hours.
Customers were treated with the opportunity to sample dishes prepared by the chef, who is from Naples, Italy.
Luca Guarino, one of the owners, said: “It was a very exciting day, but we were a little nervous prior to the opening because we didn’t know what to expect.
“It was a mix of emotions for us.”
However, opening night jitters were soon eased by the arrival of some familiar faces.
“It was good to see so much support from friends, family, and other people that have decided to pop in.
“I could see people enjoying themselves and having fun; there was music playing all night long, and people even started dancing a little.
“Despite the difficult times for the industry, we managed to offer a menu that is affordable to everybody. Everyone can come here and eat food that won’t cost a fortune.”
The restaurant offers quality ingredients from Italian suppliers. Vegan and gluten-free dishes are also available on the menu.
Mario Mandita, a 36-year-old originally from Romania, is the other restaurant owner. They have both lived in Italy for years and have experience in the food industry.
Mr Guarino said: “We are two ambitious guys who are passionate about food and cuisine. Since we met, we have always thought about doing something together. So when the opportunity came up, we decided to give it a try.
“In life, there are occasions. In Italy, we say there are ‘trains’. When those ‘trains’ pass, you need to go on top of them because they may not ever come back again if you miss them.”
The restaurant is set to join the most popular delivery platforms available in a matter of weeks.
Mr Guarino said: “We want to make sure we can cope with all the work, as we don’t want to disappoint anybody.”
