Sheffield City Council has worked in collaboration with local organisations to memorialise the coronavirus pandemic.

Over the last month numerous events have been held across the city, including Sheffield Cathedral’s ‘Wall of Reflection.’

This is a place where people can write messages and prayers to their loved ones who died during Covid-19.

The Millennium Gallery held their own ‘Stories from the Pandemic’ exhibition, headed by Compassionate Sheffield, which was staged as a ‘lockdown home.’

The final part of the exhibition is a Steel Willow Tree memorial in the Balm Green Gardens.

The statue was designed by architect George King and revealed to the public on 23 March, the National Day of Reflection and three year anniversary of COVID-19.
