From street parties to afternoon tea, celebrations are well underway ahead of King Charles III and Camilla, the Queen Consort’s, royal coronation taking place this bank holiday weekend.
The coronation will be broadcast nationally from 11am on Saturday 6th May at Westminster Abbey in London.
Despite the general excitement surrounding the historic event, some have spoken out in protest.
Pubs such as the Dog and Partridge on Trippet Lane have organised an anti- coronation party to counter the bank holiday celebrations.
Conor Smith, owner of the Sheffield pub, described the coronation as a ‘slap in the face to the British public’ amidst the UK’s ongoing cost of living crisis.
