Sheffield’s new city centre park, Pound’s Park, is set to reopen in two weeks after undergoing final construction work.

Sean McClean, director of Regeneration and Development at Sheffield City Council said: “There are still a few remaining bits of work to be carried out, including finishing up connecting the utilities and associated works.

“For this reason Pound’s Park will be closed from Monday, May 15 for 2 weeks while the finishing touches are made.”

“Once re-opened, the exciting new interactive water play features and the toilets will be up and running.”

However, as some residents of the Steel City feel that tax payers’ money should be reinvested elsewhere, after the containers on Fargate caused controversy.
