An elderly man allowed two men claiming to be maintenance workers into his home – but they left empty handed after being disturbed.
The attempted burglary happened in the Fox Hill area of Sheffield, on January 17th, with the man believing they were there to carry out repairs.
Another visitor to the house arrived and disturbed them, forcing them to leave without taking anything.
Police have since released an e-fit of a man they would like to trace after extensive CCTV searches were carried out.
The man is described as white, with blonde hair, of slim build, around 5ft 7in tall, he is believed to be in his early 40s.
