The annual Skateboard Jam at Castlegate returned on Sunday 17 March as part of Sheffield’s Festival of the Outdoors.
MarioLand, the city centre skatepark, featured new ramps and obstacles which experienced skaters and complete beginners could try out for free.
Throughout the day, DJs played live music and there was the opportunity for skaters to win cash prizes for tricks.
The event was hosted in partnership with Skateboard GB and The House Skatepark.
Alec MacDonald, a longtime skateboarder, said: “It’s really nice to see Sheffield embrace skating and skating culture instead of seeing it as something to be almost controlled and stopped. You know were just trying to have fun and see our mates.”
The public were able to join in with the ‘Have a Go Coaching Sessions’ which included free board and equipment hire.
The SkateJam was running alongside the Pollen Inner-City Flower market which hosted a range of stalls selling food, drinks and various goods.
