Pollen market is a celebration of all thing botanical, it pops up on the third Sunday of every month.
Last Sunday the market was held at Castlegate, overlooking the River Don with an array of greenery, live music, art and local produce which showcased independent businesses across Sheffield.
The market is organised by the same team who run the Peddler market in Sheffield, with a line up of street food, treats, coffee for the public to enjoy.
Eleanor Sanderson, the events organiser said that pollen market started in 2021 as a response to COVID and lockdown.
Since people weren’t able to see their friends and family inside, the market was created to give people the opportunity to meet their loved ones outside.
She said: “We are still the only flower market that happens once a month and to say that we are England’s greenest city is a perfect way to celebrate that.”
She also said the market is a great addition to the Sheffield community since it brings people together and outside to support independent businesses on a Sunday when they might be staying inside.
The market is a great way to build community, interact with others and support local and independent businesses in Sheffield and beyond
