A number of suspects were arrested yesterday, Wednesday 8 May, across Doncaster for their part in vehicle crime and anti-social behaviour across the city, South Yorkshire Police announced today.
Doncaster South Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Adrian Luscombe said Operation Duxford “shows just how committed and dedicated we are to taking action” on these offences.
“We know just how devastating vehicle crime and antisocial behaviour can be and we won’t allow the perpetrators of this criminality to continue wreaking havoc in our local communities.”
A police press statement said warrants were carried out across the city, and there were other arrests in various traffic operations and vehicle crime.
Suspects were arrested for offences including possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, possession of stolen vehicle parts, production of cannabis, and conspiracy to commit burglary.
Dozens of officers were briefed at the Eco Power Stadium in Doncaster before carrying out the operation, which targeted vehicle crime, anti-social behaviour, and nuisance off-road bikers.
Insp. Luscombe said: “Lots of work goes on to build intelligence on known offenders and bring the criminals associated with these crimes to justice and yesterday was our chance to show you just how seriously we take crimes of this nature.
“I would urge any members of the public with concerns regarding vehicle crime, antisocial behaviour and off-road bikes to please report these incidents to us immediately so we can properly investigate.”
Crimes can be reported on 101 or 999 in an emergency, and here on South Yorkshire Police’s new website.
