Today, a man has been charged in connection with the death of Paul Sharp, 52, who was fatally stabbed in 2023.
Martin Hoyland, 47, of HMP Marshgate, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.
On Wednesday 25 October 2023, South Yorkshire Police were called to a property on Redscope Crescent, Rotherham to reports of a man with serious injuries.
Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Sharp was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination confirmed he had died as a result of being stabbed.
Hoyland remains in custody and will appear before the Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday 24 March.
