Sheffield’s Lantern Theatre plays host to the New Writers Festival this week.
The festival began this Tuesday and ends on the 3rd of May and has been celebrating emerging talent in theatre and storytelling.
The festival’s producer, Nigel Turner, aims to give a platform to first-time and experienced directors alike, by hosting their plays in the Nether Edge based theatre.
The event also aims to encourage and inspire the youth to become more involved with creative expression.
Turner highlighted the importance of their ‘refreshing’ take and lived experiences.
Though the talent is emerging, the diverse age range should be a perfect example of it never being ‘too early’ or ‘too late’ to get involved with theatre and storytelling.
