Over 100 artists across Sheffield are taking part in the art studio event Open Up Sheffield.

Artwork includes sculpting, painting, photography and jewellery giftware, all which can be purchased off the individual creators.

One artist taking part in the event is Jason Heppenstall, who created the 7ft salmon outside Sheffield train station and “Allen the Falcon” outside the University of Sheffield Diamond library.

Artists can either show off their art by themselves or join together with other artists to form studios.

Open Up Sheffield has appeared in Sheffield annually since 1998 with the only exception being in 2002.

The event took place last weekend and will continue this weekend.

Some artists taking part in the event told us why it matters.
