The on-going legal issues with The Leadmill and its landlords are having a knock on effect for Sheffield-based bands.

The Leadmill has been fighting to keep a hold of the iconic building since March 2022 when the music venue was first issued an eviction order.

In their latest statement, The Leadmill said: “The Leadmill isn’t just bricks and mortar: it’s a home. Many of our team have grown up here, worked here for over 15 years and dedicated our lives to creating incredible events and experiences.”

They added that the 45-year history of the ‘cultural institution’ has nurtured artists, supported grassroots music, and provided a ‘vital space for creativity’ in Sheffield.

Rosie Wallace, of the band Tradwife, imagined playing at the venue in the future.
