Ed Sheeran gave a free pop-up performance to thousands outside Sheffield Town Hall last night.

He performed alongside DJ AG and rapper Jme from 7pm to 10pm.

Alfie Sheards, who was given a guitar from Ed on the Ellen Show in 2017, said: “The biggest superstar in the world playing on the street there it’s crazy!”

The performance was in support of TRACKS, a group that helps young people break into the music industry.

Ed announced in February that his foundation would award the group three years of funding.

He made an Instagram post an hour before the performance.

Liam, 20, said: “I like public concerts. It’s a more personal experience than a fan-only experience.”
