Sheffield Food Festival will be returning this weekend, showcasing the best of the city’s food scene.
Running from Saturday 24 to Monday 26 May, the event will feature over 60 traders in locations throughout the city centre, including the Peace Gardens, Fargate and Pinestone Street.
Noemi Antonelli, one of the festival’s organisers, said: “Sheffield is so, like, diverse and multicultural and that’s being represented in everything we do, really.
“There’s an inclusive community feel to it, and it’s made by the community for the community, so come and taste new flavours and features.
“We have several types of food cuisine coming with us to trade from Greedy Greek deli to the Gurdevs Indian street food, Venezuelan Kwan ice cream, Italian focaccia and tiramisu.”
Alongside a multitude of dishes, the festival is highlighting local musical talent through grassroot music stages.
Supported by Arts Council England, these stages will feature performances from Yorkshire Sound Women Network, Sheffield Music College and urban art hub Slamberz.
Noemi said: “We also have been quite busy in selecting the entertainment for this year.
“Thanks to the funding support we had the possibility to go and scout for the best talent out there, which is primarily local talent, but also we’ve been sort of looking through the gaps.
“We’ve been working through with different partners for this year’s festival to ensure that we’ve got young people and diverse artists as well on the stages. “

With over 50 thousand people attending last year, this year’s event promises to be even bigger.
Noemi continued: “It’s very popular because the food is delicious, and it’s a great day out for all ages.
“It’s the largest free food festival in South Yorkshire to attend, so there are no barriers to come along and enjoy the day, really.”
The event is shaped by community feedback and consistently always diversifying the food and drink available.

Noemi said: “We’ve got several loyal vendors that come back every year, but I’m definitely looking forward to trying the new foods coming along.
We do have a great drinks partnership, Kelham Island Brewery and Thornbridge Brewery will be serving their drinks at our main bar, so I’m looking forward to that too.
“It’s a vibrant food scene in Sheffield, and we are just platforming, showcasing it, the best of it.”
The festival will be open 10 to 7pm Saturday and Sunday, and 10 till 6pm on Monday.
