Tickets for Tropiloco’s one-night-only club event went on sale on Monday night, but they did not last long.
The Foundry, where the event will be hosted, has a capacity of 1,800 people, but it took less than 20 minutes to sell out the venue and there are still waiting lists for those hoping to gain access.
Tickets were sold in six releases, ranging from £1 to £8 as availability decreased, and up to 8 were available to purchase per person.
Tropiloco is consistently branded as the ‘UK’s biggest student party’ and has expanded rapidly since 2023.
The brand has operated in many major UK cities including Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, with more permanent weekly events in some locations.
Launched by Loosedays, their club nights are known for their high energy events, DJs, fruit platters and crazy themes, as well as their strong association with official sponsor VK.
ShefNews spoke to Chiara Padovan, who was quick enough to secure tickets. She said: “Yesterday I got tickets to Tropiloco. I signed up for the prerelease and they were sold out within like two minutes.
“It’s actually gonna be the biggest club night of the year. I’m so excited. They’ve been to Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds and now they’re finally coming to Sheffield.”
Since the announcement of its arrival in Sheffield at the start of February, Tropiloco’s social media team have worked hard to promote the event. TikTok videos featuring girls in bright blue VK hoodies have gone viral, reaching up to 50k views.
Their team have also been spotted around Sheffield, giving out mystery gifts and £10 notes to followers, building the hype.
The event will be hosted at the Foundry on 2 March with doors opening at 23:00, and the event ending at 03:30, according to Fixr.
Tropiloco have teased a second event in Sheffield following the high demand for tickets, but the venue and date have yet to be announced.
