Sheffield City Centre has begun it’s regeneration journey and local street artists are helping to support the transformation.
Artist RUOK, who is based in the city, recently completed an impressive piece on the kiosk at the top of The Moor.
The design is called ‘Take Bold Steps’ and took the artist just two days to complete.
RUOK, pronounced ‘are you okay’, moved to Sheffield 11 years ago but started his graffiti journey around the age of eight.
The artist said “It was the coolest thing ever to see when I was eight, it was magic.”
He grew up on the small island of Tortola where graffiti wasn’t a common hobby or sight.

Sheffield has been a notorious playground for street and graffiti artists due to the plethora of abandoned warehouses and factories and more recently the council have embraced the benefits of street art, even commissioning pieces.
RUOK said: “It’s always been a part of Sheffield but it’s so cool that the council are embracing it during the regeneration of the town.”
Some of the artist’s pieces can be found at The Nursery Tavern, Cambridge Street, The Moor and Norfolk Row and yet he still says he feels he “doesn’t have enough” pieces.

RUOK completed his ‘Follow the Heart’ piece on Fargate/ Norfolk Row on Christmas Eve, the BT box on Cambridge Street was completed in early January and both the Nursery Tavern and Moor pieces were completed this month.
Sheffield has previously celebrated murals and street art in the Lick of Paint festival in September 2025 which is set to return again later this year.
