Local charities played a central role by raising awareness and connecting directly with Sheffield residents at May Fayre in Weston Park last Sunday.
The event commemorated global travelling performers from the 17th century to the present day while also showcasing the University’s heritage collections. However, much of the space was used by various charities to promote their message and educate people.
Sian Butler-Walsh for Guide Dogs shares that “it can be challenging to get people to come talk to her because they know we are asking for donations, but it’s still important to be here."
Many families gathered around the stands, and volunteers were highly engaged in discussing their work with residents to strengthen connections and encourage greater involvement in local causes.
