A Rotherham-based grassroots snooker academy has provided a safe space and a community for many players across South Yorkshire.

Local snooker player Lee Hague set up Snooker4all in order to assist others and promote snooker as a powerful form of therapy as well as a sport.

It welcomes people from all walks of life to participate and has become a community hub for the people of Rotherham, as well as the home of four World Disability Snooker players.

Mr Hague, 41, has autism. He said: “We found that not everyone was familiar with people with disabilities or neurodiverse conditions. Our mission is to provide a place where everyone who comes through these doors feels loved and accepted for who they are.”

He is ranked fifth in the World Disability Snooker rankings and is headed to Thailand to compete in the World Championships next month.
