Heavy Traffic Congestion around Meadowhall led to closure of roads as fans were trying to go to the Steelers Hockey game on Wednesday.

The congestion has been cleared now.

Can you help officers find man’s family?

Police are looking for a man’s family after he is believed to have suffered a medical episode while out running in the Wickersley area of Rotherham this morning.

The man, possibly aged between 70 and 80, and described as white and of slim build, is wearing running clothing consisting of dark leggings, a yellow florescent jacket, a beanie hat and white trainers.

The Barnsley 10k

Barnsley 10K will see the return of flagship race in Barnsley town centre on Sunday, the 30th of June 2024. 

The event is being delivered by Active in Barnsley, as a part of the #WhatsYourMove campaign. The race will start at 9am.

Doncaster Council receive £138M in funds to reopen airport

Doncaster Sheffield Airport has received £138 million fund to reopen and the owners consider a lease agreement.

The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) approved the fund on 13 February allowing Doncaster council to negotiate and hopefully reopen the airport.

Mark Chadwick, set up a successful Facebook group campaigning for the airport to reopen. He said he has received a constant flood of following from thousands of people in agreement.

Mr Chadwick said: “After just 24 hours we had 1000 followers and after a week we reached 4000. The response was immediate.”

The reopening of the airport is predicted to create around 15,000 direct and indirect jobs.
