A celebration of Black music and inclusivity was hosted in the Winter Gardens yesterday afternoon.
The event commemorates the one-year anniversary of the MOBO (music of Black origin) awards being hosted in Sheffield.
Music industry leaders and artists from across South Yorkshire gathered for a panel discussion in the Millennium Gallery before Sheffield Community Choir kicked off an afternoon of performances.
Steve Edwards, a singer-songwriter who led the discussions, said: “This event shows me the progress a city like Sheffield is making to try and help the young people of Sheffield to realise and reach their potential.
“To me I think it’s really important that a place like Sheffield is doing that. There is no other place in the country that’s doing what Sheffield is trying to do.”
