Sheffield sculptor Steve Roche was part of the four-person Great Britain team that won the public vote and placed third in the technical judging at the World Snow Festival in Grindelwald, Switzerland.
Despite the success, Steve is staying grounded and returning to his main craft of stone sculpting, with several projects already lined up.
Steve said the experience has opened his eyes to a world of snow sculpting he had not known about before.
“I’d definitely do it again, it was good fun” he said.
“There are also competitions in the States and Canada, as well as a big one in China which you can only apply to if you’ve won an international competition,” he said.
“So who knows.”
