Last night, Plughole’s comedy night took place at Alder in Neepsend.

The event brought together performers for what was advertised as ‘Sheffield’s Weirdest New Material Night’. Running from 7pm until 10pm, the night invited artists to test fresh and unseen material across alternative comedy, dance and theatre and gave performers space to perform their material in front of a live audience.

With a sliding ticket price that focused on people paying what they could, Plughole aimed to remain accessible to their audience with prices ranging from £5 to £20.

Attendees had a mixture of live performance styles, from stand-up comedy acts to improvisation acts and musicals. The organiser, Ollie Yates, spoke about how the night impacts the local community and what to expect.
