Academics and the public came together this week to celebrate the Pint Of Science festival in Sheffield.
The event spans multiple venues across the city and aims to engage the public with lectures about topics from cancer research to microbes.
Audience members are encouraged to quiz speakers and discuss ideas in an informal setting.
At Sheffield Plate, organisers Anubhav Chatterjee and Navin Shirodkar organised an education on quantum physics and more.
The event takes place in 27 countries worldwide and challenges lecturers to present complex science simply.
The festival, founded in 2013, has grown into one of the world’s largest science events, attracting thousands of attendees each year.
Speakers at the event included Katie O’Flaherty, Professor Sarah Harris and mechanical engineer Anastasia Tsavea.
