Arctic Monkeys will top the line up at Glastonbury this June alongside Guns N’ Roses and pop star and queer icon Elton John, organisers announced this morning.

The generational Rock band Guns N’ Roses will headline on June 24, with Global superstar Elton John headlining the closing night.

The band hailing from the Steel City, will be the fist headliner of the weekend performing on Friday June 23.

After releasing their latest album “The Car” last October, the band are set to tour Europe before heading to their UK shows, which now includes the iconic music festival.

Fans of the group in Sheffield will be able to get a taste of Alex Turner and the band before Glastonbury, with two shows penned in at Hillsborough Park on 9 and 10 June.

Mia Rose, 19, from Kettering,  an avid Arctic Monkeys fan who is currently studying in Sheffield, said she will not be missing the opportunity to see the group perform live again.

“I grew up listening to the arctic monkeys with my dad, so seeing them live at Reading festival last summer was a huge full circle moment for me,” she said.

“I love the new vibe of the latest album and can’t wait to see them live again at Hillsborough in June.”

Sophie Wilson, 20, from Eckington, said the feeling is bittersweet surrounding the band and their latest ventures in the music industry.

“Old Artic Monkeys are brilliant, I love them, but since their tranquillity album they have gone down hill,”

She added that lead singer, Alex Turner, has “changed his look” which has changed the band’s style of music and aura.

After leaving the UK, the Yorkshiremen  will commence their tour of North America to mark their latest album, giving fans around the globe a chance to see them perform.
