Sheffield’s highly-anticipated Comic-Con will return this Sunday, making it an exciting weekend for children and adults alike.

The convention will bring together comics, films, and pop culture fans for a day filled with cosplay, merchandise, and special guest appearances.

One fan, Chris Andrews, 22, of Rotherham, said: “I enjoy Comic-Con every year as an opportunity to cosplay Blade Runner with my friends. All my favourite comics and films are there,

“It’s good to see so many people coming together to celebrate what they love, and the atmosphere is always incredible.”

The event will take place in Ponds Forge International Centre from 10am-4pm and tickets are on sale from £6, as well as offering family passes.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet Dani Harmer, best known for her role in Tracy Beaker, actor Colin Baker, famous for portraying the Sixth Doctor in Doctor Who, and British puppeteer Phil Fletcher, known for his work on Hacker T. Dog.

Chloe Louise, 26, a streamer from Sheffield said: “Although I do like going, I’d love if they’d have some bigger celebrities attending. Most of the time I don’t know the guests and just go for the vibes.”

In addition to meeting special guests, fans will have the opportunity to experience many local and national vendors selling merchandise, collectables and memorabilia. The event will also feature panel discussions with industry professionals, cosplay competitions, and family-friendly activities, making it a fantastic day out.

Attendees can also expect to see live demonstrations from comic book artists, participate in retro gaming zones, and explore themed escape rooms.

For those who love cosplay, the competition is expected to be one of the biggest highlights of the event, with prizes for the most creative and detailed costumes.

Ms Louise said: “The cosplay competition is the best, even if you don’t win you get some fab photos.”

Tickets are still on sale for the event.
