Sheffield’s Reece Ward, who appeared on the last season of The Traitors UK, found watching the show from home a lot less stressful.

Reece faced a lot of heat at the round table during his time on the show, but he is proud of how he played the game.

He said: “I was very much myself, so that meant being a little bit emotional. Obviously it didn’t fare me well but I am proud of how I played.”

Reece explained how you cannot prepare for the intense moments and levels of pressure in the castle.

He defended his forgetfulness under pressure when addressing the critical moment of seeing the traitors at the family tree.

He said: “I didn’t have time to explain because I was up for early banishment, then I was shoved in a cage, and nobody believed me!”

He said that he did have suspicions on both the traitors at different points and found it “frustrating” once he found out who the traitors were.

In terms of the constant accusations that were pointed Reece’s way he is still confused even after watching it back.

He said: “I was really hoping for a little bit of clarity watching it back as to why I was so scrutinised.

“It was frustrating that they wouldn’t give reasons as to why they thought it was me.

“They were saying it was their gut feeling and there is not much I can do about that.”

However, despite the frustration he has felt watching it back, he said: “It’s so funny to watch it from the other shoe, my emotions were a hell of a lot different to how I feel now.”

The Traitors finale peaked at 9.6 million viewers, the most ever for a civilian version of the programme.

Reece said: “Watching it back and seeing the drama of it all with the fire and the music and everything is amazing television.”

The Traitors, Rachel and Stephen, taking the win, the first ever traitor pair to do so, Reece said: “I think their game was immaculate.”

Life post-traitors has been very busy for Reece and he is still adjusting.

He said: “So many amazing opportunities have been thrown all of our ways, and I am taking them with two hands really”.
