People all around the world celebrated the achievements of women and progression of women’s rights in the annual International Women’s Day.
In South Yorkshire, ShefNews went down to a pre-season training session at Bawtry Road to recognise the successes of Sheffield Eagles’ first ever women’s side.
The rugby league team was established just last year and have already achieved promotion to the Championship. Ahead of the new season, ShefNews spoke to the team about their highlights from league one, ambitions for the new season, and the growth of women’s sport.
