Coronavirus restrictions are gradually being lifted, and on 17 May, restaurants, pubs and cafes in England were allowed to serve customers indoors again.

The reopening of businesses came as a boost after five months of not being able to welcome customers through the doors.

Many business in Sheffield are excited to welcome people inside, as they are no longer dependant on the weather conditions. Business owners and staff have shared their thoughts on new rules. One of the Copper pot owners, Rhys Davies, and Bill’s supervisor, Jamie Schollar, are happy that their businesses are offering both bookings and walk-ins. However, Union St owner Matt Hill preferred to wait to reopen indoors due to the threat posed by the Indian variant of Covid-19.
