Sheffield Children’s Hospital charity have continued their fundraising efforts after they pledged two million pounds to a new national centre for child health technology.
Theos abseil was the charities most recent event with around 50 people abseiling 140ft down Sheffield Hallam University’s Owen building.
Phoebe Marriott, Events Fundraising Officer, said: “We are immensely grateful for everyone who has contributed whether it be a pound or ten pounds.
“The day was very successful, and it ran very smoothly, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we were really lucky with the weather.”
The charity is a key partner and funder of the new project at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park. It will be run by Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
The NCCHT will have a virtual reality suite, creative space to develop ways to care for people remotely and the opportunity to test new prototypes. Furthermore, it will drive employment and develop the skills of the local communities in Sheffield.
The charity says the technologies that they and a community of innovators from across the world develop will benefit children today and in the future, worldwide.
